The Ötscher Trails through the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park have been one of Austria's oldest trail races since 1997 and, since 2024, have been held as Austria's toughest 3-day event, in addition to the individual competitions: Vertical Race, Easy Trail, Speed Trail, Marathon Trail and the Skyrace with the HERO and KING/QUEEN rankings .
The routes include the Vertical Race on Friday, a 5.1km climb of 1140+ meters to the Ötscher summit, the Marathon Trail on Saturday through the Ötschergräben (Grand Canyon of Austria), and on Sunday, the Skyrace, which involves some easy rock climbing over the Rauen Kamm ridge and the Ötscher summit.
The Speed Trail on Saturday features the summit victory on the Kleiner Ötscher, while the Easy Trail for trail beginners leads through beautiful single trails to the finish in Lackenhof .
The Ötscher Trails, with their Skyrace (Skyrunner Austria Series) and Vertical Race (Vertikal Austria Series), are among Austria's top events. In addition to participating in the Austrian Volkslauf Cup, the Austrian Championships are also held as part of the Ötscher Trails.

Pockau is a village and a former municipality in the district of Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony, Germany. On 1 January 2014 it was merged with the town Lengefeld to form the town Pockau-Lengefeld. Pockau is on the Silver Road (Silberstraße).
