About the Event

Experience the Pat Stratton Ride, an iconic road cycling tour through the breathtaking landscapes of northern Adirondacks. This event, named after local plumber Pat Stratton who was also a cycling enthusiast, offers cyclists 25-mile, 50-mile, and century routes that showcase some of the region's most stunning scenery.
The ride takes place on August 22nd, rain or shine, in Saranac Lake. With a participation cap set at just 300 riders, each participant is guaranteed an intimate experience amidst nature’s beauty. The event supports the Saranac Lake Kiwanis Club and its youth programs, including annual bicycle rodeos, free helmet distribution, school backpack programs, support for foster children, and summer camp scholarships.
Since its inception in 1997, the Pat Stratton Ride has raised over $140,000 for these vital community initiatives. Participants can expect ride support with fully stocked rest stops along the way. At the finish line, enjoy a post-ride barbecue hosted at Mt. Pisgah Recreation Center and indulge in world-famous fresh-baked pies.
The route is meticulously marked with road paint and turn signs to ensure clear navigation for all riders. Estimated completion times are as follows: 25 miles in approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, 50 miles in about 3 to 4 hours, and the century ride should be completed within 6 to 7 hours.
Riders can look forward to a well-organized event with minimal traffic, allowing for a smooth and enjoyable journey through picturesque Adirondack terrain. The atmosphere is one of camaraderie among like-minded individuals who share in the beauty and challenge of cycling together.
