Join the vibrant community of young athletes at the 13th Perinton Youth Triathlon, an exciting event designed for aspiring triathletes. Competitors can choose between two race distances tailored to different skill levels: "The Sprint" and "The Doubler." In "The Sprint," participants will start with a short but challenging 50-yard swim in clear waters, followed by a brisk 2-mile bike ride on scenic routes through Perinton's picturesque countryside. The event concludes with a half-mile run along the town’s tree-lined streets. For those looking to push their limits further, "The Doubler" offers double the excitement: a 100-yard swim, a full 4-mile bike course that winds through varied terrain, and an invigorating mile-long run. Both distances are designed to test endurance while fostering teamwork in the transition area. Transition opens at 8am on race day, allowing athletes ample time to get set up before their staggered starts begin promptly at 9am. All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt upon registration and enjoy a light snack post-race as part of the celebration. Age group medals are awarded based on gender for four distinct categories: ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. This ensures recognition across all levels of competition, encouraging young athletes to strive towards personal bests and team success. Don’t miss the race walkthrough scheduled for Thursday, August 6th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, where participants can familiarize themselves with the course and meet fellow competitors. This event promises not only a day of athletic achievement but also an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers in a supportive environment. The Perinton Youth Triathlon is more than just a race; it’s about embracing challenges, building friendships, and celebrating personal growth among young athletes.
