Join Phoenix Running Bedfordshire for the inaugural Cakeathon on November 22, 2026, as we celebrate our first birthday with an exciting and flexible running experience. The event offers runners of all abilities the chance to explore Mowsbury Park's picturesque trails in a self-paced format that accommodates various distances. Participants can choose from a range of options: complete one lap of the 5.3km (3.28-mile) course or keep going for as long as they wish within the event’s generous seven-hour time limit. The looped route, featuring both woodland trails and paved parkland paths, offers runners stunning views with no elevation changes, making it ideal for those looking to push their limits in a flat terrain setting. The Cakeathon is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing participants to start at any point within the one-hour window from 8:30am. This ensures that everyone can avoid waiting around if they arrive early or manage late arrivals without stress. If you have specific time requirements for your run, feel free to reach out; we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Phoenix Running Bedfordshire is known for its unique and impressive finisher’s medals, but this year's event introduces a new 'no medal' entry option priced at just £20. This allows runners to enjoy all the benefits of participating—such as real-time results published on race day, digital bibs, athlete profiles on Phoenix World, and digital certificates—without the cost associated with traditional medals. With only 75 spots available for this special event, early registration is highly recommended to secure your place. Whether you're looking for a quick lap or an endurance challenge, Mowsbury Park offers the perfect setting for runners of all levels to enjoy a memorable day out in Bedfordshire's beautiful surroundings. Join us and be part of our first Cakeathon celebration—where every finisher is a winner.
