PHOENIX - Manchester - Wings of Remembrance 2026

On Remembrance Day 2026, Phoenix Running invites you to honor the fallen at Alexandra Park with an unforgettable running experience. This year’s edition features a special Lancaster Bomber medal that runners have been eagerly anticipating for its striking design.
The event kicks off early on November 11th as participants gather in North Manchester's historic Alexandra Park, dating back to the 1860s. At 11am sharp, all runners will observe two minutes of silence to commemorate this solemn day. The park’s stunning greenery and tranquil atmosphere provide a fitting backdrop for reflection.
The course itself is challenging yet rewarding, winding through tarmac paths that test both endurance and lung capacity as you ascend approximately 246 feet per lap. While the route may feel spicy after several laps due to its elevation gain, it offers runners an immersive Phoenix Running experience with ample support along the way. Well-stocked aid stations are strategically placed throughout the park, ensuring everyone stays hydrated and fueled.
Runners have the flexibility to choose their distance by completing as many 3.28-mile loops around Alexandra Park as they wish within a seven-hour window from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Whether you're aiming for a half marathon or an ultra-distance challenge, there's plenty of room to set your own pace and goals.
The park is equipped with public toilets and a cafe on-site, making it easy to refuel between laps if needed. Participants can also take advantage of the free parking options around Alexandra Park, including spaces along Queens Road and nearby streets for those preferring on-road spots. A limited number of free slots are available at Alexandra Park Car Park off Kings Road.
To ensure compliance with local regulations, runners should be aware of any parking restrictions to avoid incurring fines. Additionally, all participants must adhere to TRA and UKA rules during the event and be 18 years or older to take part.
