Pic de l'Alpe

The Pic of the Alp race is set to take place on August 16, 2026, offering runners an exhilarating journey through the heart of Alpine terrain. Starting at Alpe d'Huez, this challenging course spans a distance of 8.57 miles (13.8 kilometers) and features nearly half a mile (1550 meters) in elevation gain.
The race begins with women setting off at 9:00 AM, followed closely by the men's start time of 9:05 AM. Participants will navigate their way up to the summit of Pic du Blanc, reaching an impressive altitude of 3330 meters above sea level as they traverse through Freney d'Oisans.
This individual race allows runners to set their own pace within a specified timeframe while adhering strictly to road rules whenever the course intersects with public roads. The scenic route offers breathtaking views and challenging ascents that test both physical endurance and mental fortitude.
Upon reaching the summit, participants will enjoy the rewarding descent back down to Alpe d'Huez via ski lifts and other mechanical means provided along the way.
The top three finishers in each gender category (men and women) as well as winners from various age categories up until M49/F49 will be recognized for their achievements during a post-race ceremony.
