Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty and rich history of Pinawa Dam Provincial Park for an unforgettable running experience. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, runners will have the opportunity to explore diverse trails along the Trans Canada Trail, starting with a picturesque route through Old Pinawa Trail that stretches over 3.8 kilometers. This trail offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and is perfect for those who enjoy winding paths lined with trees. For an added challenge, participants can opt for a shorter but equally thrilling course on Westdal Way, which covers just under two kilometers. The route winds through charming local scenery, providing runners with ample opportunities to admire the natural beauty that Pinawa has to offer. The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the Alice Chambers Trail and Suspension Bridge run. This 2.9-kilometer trail leads you across a historic suspension bridge set against the backdrop of the Heritage Channel Walk, offering stunning views as it spans over three kilometers. The combination of natural beauty and historical significance makes this section an absolute must for any runner. Race day registration will take place at the Pinawa Golf Clubhouse starting from 8:00 am. Runners should be prepared to start their journey either at 10:00 am or 10:30 am, depending on which trail they choose. The race begins and ends at the picturesque Pinawa Dam Provincial Park located off Road 520 for those starting early, while later starters will begin from the Suspension Bridge along Road 211. Runners are encouraged to bring their own hydration and nutrition supplies as this is a self-supported event. However, once you cross the finish line at the Pinawa Golf Course Clubhouse, pizza awaits all participants in the clubhouse restaurant. The entry fee for adults is $70 per person, payable via e-transfer or cash; members of MRA (Manitoba Running Association) and MTR (Master's Track & Field Manitoba) receive a discount of $10.
