Just an hour south of Atlanta, runners will navigate through technical single-track trails that challenge even the most seasoned athletes. For 2026, Pine Mountain Trail Run introduces five unique race options to cater to various levels of experience: - 10k Trail Open: A brand new addition designed for those looking to dip their toes into trail racing. This fast-paced event is open to all runners.
- The Classic (19 Miler): The heart and soul of Pine Mountain, this single-loop course starts at Liberty Bell Park Area. Ideal for both newcomers and seasoned veterans. - The Ultra (40 Miler): A historic multi-loop challenge that tests the limits of endurance over a beautifully challenging route through FDR State Park’s rugged trails.
- OG Invitational 46 Miler: Celebrating the race's longevity, this grueling event is reserved for past PMTR finishers only. It honors four decades of trail running excellence. - Virtual 400-Mile Challenge: Participants can build their fitness and earn bragging rights by completing a virtual 400-mile challenge during training season leading up to the race day. All live races start and finish at Liberty Bell Pool, offering convenient amenities for runners and crew members. Post-race celebrations include world-class aid stations managed by GUTS volunteers, official race shirts and swag items, custom finisher awards, and a festive atmosphere with post-race food and entertainment at the event headquarters.
