Pink Wave 5K-benefitting First Friday Mammogram Program
About the Event
On Saturday, September 19th at Michael J Ellis Beach & Seawall (14926 Winward Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas), the community will come together for the inaugural 5K Fun Run. This special race is designed to support the First Friday Mammogram Program, a local nonprofit that provides free mammograms to women without insurance coverage. The event offers an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere where both experienced runners and casual participants can join in on the fun. Whether you're looking to enjoy a morning run along the picturesque shoreline or simply want to spend quality time with family and friends, this 5K is tailored for all ages and fitness levels. Packet pickup will be available at the Michael J Ellis Beach & Seawall location on Friday, September 18th from 9:00am to 3:00pm. For those who prefer last-minute preparation, race day packet pick-up will also take place from 6:30am until 7:30am. The run itself starts promptly at 7:30am and promises scenic views of the Corpus Christi coastline as participants traverse along the seawall. The event aims to raise awareness about breast cancer screening while generating funds for vital health services that are often out of reach due to financial constraints or lack of insurance coverage. By participating in this year's run, you'll be contributing directly to a cause that supports early detection and improved women’s healthcare within your community. Your support helps ensure that no woman is denied access to critical preventive care simply because she cannot afford it. For more information or sponsorship inquiries, please contact Gabrielle at 361-455-6380. Join us for a day dedicated to promoting health and empowerment in our local area. See you there!

About Corpus Christi
Learn more about the host city, Corpus Christi.
Corpus Christi is Texas's largest coastal city and the gateway to Padre Island. While Corpus Christi isn't on the way to much of anything except itself, it offers enough to fill a visit in its own right, or a multi-day trip from San Antonio, Austin, or Houston. The name is Latin for "Body of Christ".
