Run The Runway - Corpus Christi

Experience the unique thrill of running on an active airport runway at Run the Runway, held on Saturday, September 26, 2026. This special event takes place at Corpus Christi International Airport and offers participants rare access to explore aviation up close.
The morning kicks off with a fun-filled 1K Kids Fun Run starting at 7:45 a.m., followed by an out-and-back 5K walk or run that begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. This race is not just about the finish line; it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of aviation.
Participants will be treated to breathtaking views of aircraft, trucks, and other special vehicles as they traverse the runway. The event promises to offer runners and walkers alike a memorable experience that combines physical activity with educational insights into airport operations.
Registration fees are set at $20 for both the 1K Kids Fun Run and the 5K walk/run until August 31st; thereafter, prices increase to $40 for the 5K. T-shirts and finisher medals are guaranteed only for those who register before September 1, 2026.
Packet pickup is available on Friday, September 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., or you can pick up your packet at the start line on race day between 6:30 and 8:00 am.
This event supports Wings of Texas, an inclusive nonprofit organization dedicated to making the Coastal Bend community accessible for individuals with disabilities since 2014. Their adaptive sports programs include running, cycling, swimming, triathlons, and bowling, all aimed at promoting inclusion and accessibility in local communities.
