Pitsea RC Crown to Crown 2026: Race 5 of 7 - August Edition Join Pitsea Running Club for an exhilarating evening race as part of the Crown to Crown series, which features seven off-road 5Ks throughout the year. This event is not only a celebration of trail running but also an opportunity to be part of a vibrant community. ### Event Details Date and Time: Wednesday, August 12th at 7:30 PM Location: Westley Heights Country Park (behind Miller & Carter – Crown Public House) Parking is limited, so arrive early if you plan on driving. A short walk from the car park to the start line may be required. ### Entry Fees - Affiliated Runners (18+): £2.50 - Unaffiliated Runners (18+): £4.50 - Ages 12–17: £1.50 Online processing costs are included in the fees, and on-the-day entries are available at these same prices but entering online will save you time. ### The Route The race course is a fully measured 5K that primarily follows bridleways through picturesque Essex countryside. It starts on Beeleigh Avenue, winds along Lee Chapel Lane, loops around Essex Wildlife Trust’s Willow Park, and finishes back in Westley Heights Car Park. Expect: - Trail and bridleway terrain - Some sections of tarmac - A true taste of rural running Please note that spikes are not suitable for this course due to the presence of tarmac sections. ### Race Rules & Safety The event adheres strictly to UK Athletics rules under TRA Permit No. 8093, which will be available on race day. Key regulations include: - No Under 12s (due to EA distance guidelines) - No Canicross or Dogs - No Pushchairs The event features a single mass start for all age groups and gun-to-finish timing. Results are typically posted the following day on our website. Safety measures include: - Course marshals - A tail runner ensuring no one is left behind - First aid stations both along the course and at the finish line - Defibrillator available at the finish area - Water provided at the finish ### Cancellation Policy In case of cancellation due to weather, unsafe conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances, entrants will be offered a transfer to another race in 2026 or a refund minus processing fees.
