Nestled within the heart of the Austrian Alps at the Hochzeiger ski resort, PAST GUAT, PAST SUPER, and PAST MEGA offer runners an exhilarating blend of snow-trail racing and high-altitude adventure. Each course is meticulously crafted to cater to a range of abilities while providing breathtaking views and challenging terrain. PAST GUAT This compact yet demanding 7-kilometer race begins at the Hochzeiger mid-station, ascending steadily along ski roads toward the Sechszeiger aid station. The trail then climbs further up to reach its highest point around 2,500 meters above sea level. From there, runners face a technical descent through the notorious "Kanonenrohr," a steep snow chute that demands full concentration and skill. After navigating this challenging section, participants continue across the Zollberg before finishing back at the mid-station. PAST SUPER For those seeking an extended alpine experience, PAST SUPER spans approximately 12 kilometers with nearly 1,200 meters of elevation gain. The race starts from the valley station and ascends through a mix of ski pistes, forest roads, and winter hiking trails to reach the Stalderhütte. Here, runners tackle the legendary Zirmfall—a short but brutally steep section at an 80% gradient that tests every runner's limits. After conquering this obstacle, they are rewarded with panoramic views across the Inn valley before continuing on to the Sechszeiger aid station and following a similar route as PAST GUAT. PAST MEGA The ultimate challenge of the series is PAST MEGA, stretching over 20 kilometers and featuring an elevation gain of about 1,900 meters. This course combines the most intense sections of both PAST SUPER and PAST GUAT, offering a full alpine experience. Starting from the valley station, runners ascend through varied terrain to reach the Stalderhütte before tackling the Zirmfall. The route then follows the ridgeline with stunning views until reaching the Sechszeiger aid station at 12 kilometers. From this point, participants transition onto gentler PAST GUAT sections and continue toward the highest point of nearly 2,500 meters. A fast and technical descent via "Kanonenrohr" leads to the Zollberg, followed by another ascent through the Zirmpark before returning to finish at the mid-station. Each course offers a unique blend of challenging ascents, thrilling descents, and stunning alpine scenery, making PAST GUAT, SUPER, and MEGA must-do events for winter trail runners.
