Experience the 12th annual Pleasant Creek Trail Run (P.C.T.R.), organized by the Eastern Iowa Trail Alliance, set to take place on September 12, 2026. This scenic trail race offers three challenging distances: a 15K, a 30K, and a grueling 45K. The event promises an unforgettable journey through the lush landscapes of Pleasant Creek Park. The races commence at 7:30 am for both the 30K and 45K participants, with the shorter distance starting promptly at 8:00 am. As you embark on your run, navigate rolling hills and winding trails that wind their way around the picturesque park’s equestrian loop. The course primarily consists of dirt paths and grassy areas dotted with small water crossings, creating a dynamic terrain perfect for trail runners. Upon completing your race, join fellow participants at a post-race cookout starting around 10:00 am. This event is not just about the run; it’s an opportunity to connect with nature and meet like-minded individuals over food and refreshments provided by volunteers in the park's grass field near Pleasant Creek Beach. Awards are given out for top male and female finishers at each distance, along with age group distinctions: 29 & under, 30-45, and 46+. The overall winners will not be eligible for these age category awards. In addition to recognition, the first-place male and female runners in both the 45K (with a $150 prize) and 30K/15K ($75/$50 respectively) receive cash prizes plus free registration for next year’s event. For those looking to push their limits further, breaking an existing race record can earn you additional rewards of up to $100. Timing services are provided by OnlineRaceResults, ensuring quick and accurate results available throughout the day on their website. Registration is now open through UltraSignup until Thursday, September 10th at 5:00 PM (Central Time). Shirts may be purchased as an add-on for $15 but must be pre-ordered to guarantee your size. Packet pickup will take place Friday evening from 5-7 pm at Soko Outfitters in Cedar Rapids. Remember, no race day registration is allowed and bib transfers or refunds are not available under any circumstances. Be sure to pick up timing chips on the morning of the event between 6:30 am and 7:30 am if you haven't done so earlier during packet pickup at Soko Outfitters. Join us as we celebrate another year of trail running excellence in Eastern Iowa, part of the No Coast Trail Series. For more information about this series or to sign up for future events, visit .
