POCO Sport Festival 5k, 10k Run comes back to Port Coquitlam on 11th July 2026. The course itself winds through Gates Park’s picturesque landscapes, offering runners both gentle hills and flat stretches that showcase the best of Port Coquitlam’s natural beauty. The 10k Run starts at 8:30 A.M., with its route taking participants on a loop that covers approximately ten kilometers. For those aiming for a shorter distance, the 5k Run begins just after, providing an equally rewarding experience over five kilometers.
The start/finish line is conveniently located in Gates Park, where runners will find aid stations strategically placed along the course to ensure hydration and nutrition are easily accessible. Spectators can gather here to cheer on their loved ones or simply enjoy the day’s festivities. The race features a unique terrain with both paved paths and grassy trails providing variety for every runner.
Weather conditions in July at Gates Park typically average around 20°C, but runners should be prepared for temperatures that can range from a comfortable 14°C to a slightly warmer 25°C depending on the day. Bib pickup will be held on Friday July 7th from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., and Saturday July 8th from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Gates Park Community Centre, located at 1645 Lougheed Highway, Port Coquitlam BC V3B 7H5. Be sure to bring a valid photo ID for bib collection.
