On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Providence College invites the entire Friar community and beyond to celebrate fitness and unity during Homecoming weekend. The centerpiece event is a USA Track and Field-sanctioned race that winds through the picturesque campus of Providence College over a distance of 3.1 miles. Whether you're an enthusiastic student or a proud alumnus, this annual festival offers something special for everyone who wishes to participate as individuals or teams. Early registrants will receive a complimentary cotton t-shirt, with sizes available on a first-come-first-served basis. While walk-in registrations are accepted on race day, we recommend arriving early due to limited availability of shirts. The event is designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all participants, regardless of the weather conditions. For younger members of the community aged under 12 years old, there's a separate Fun Run scheduled at 2:00 p.m., which takes place on Ray Tracy Track near the finish line of the main race. This year’s event is proudly sponsored by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island as headline sponsor. Join us for an afternoon filled with camaraderie and spirited competition, all while supporting your beloved Providence College community. The day promises not only a challenging yet rewarding course but also an engaging atmosphere that highlights the spirit of Homecoming at Providence College. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself – register now or plan to sign up early on race morning for the best experience and perks.

About Providence
Learn more about the host city, Providence.
Providence is the state capital and largest city in Rhode Island, as well as the third largest city in New England. It used to be a heavily industrialized bastion of organized crime, but Providence's recent renaissance has created new parks and attractions and brought emphasis back to its historic roots as an intellectual center. Downcity events, historic vistas, eclectic districts such as College Hill and Federal Hill, and a great nightlife make Providence a worthwhile tourist destination. Today, it is perhaps best known as the home of Brown University.
