Puffing Billy x TRC Lilydale x New Balance Social Run

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, The Running Company Lilydale and New Balance invite runners of all levels for a complimentary social run at the picturesque Emerald Lake Park. This free event is designed to provide guidance and camaraderie for those interested in participating in the upcoming Puffing Billy Running Festival or simply enjoying a leisurely Sunday morning jog.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to test out newly released New Balance shoes, ensuring they find their perfect fit before hitting the trails. By joining this run, you'll also enter a draw to win an exclusive pair of New Balance shoes from The Running Company Lilydale.
The event kicks off at 8:30 am when runners gather in the Function Room within the Puffing Billy Railway Lakeside Visitor Centre located on Emerald Lake Road, Emerald VIC. From there, attendees will undergo shoe fittings and receive a warm welcome complete with cultural acknowledgments and safety briefings by Bec & Steve from The Running Company Lilydale.
At 9:15 am sharp, the run begins along the scenic paths of Emerald Lake Park. Run leaders will accompany participants at various speeds to ensure everyone enjoys the experience regardless of pace or endurance level. While the course isn't marked—encouraging runners to use their mobile devices if needed—the route remains straightforward and enjoyable.
The group reconvenes by 10:00 am back at the visitor centre, where free post-run massages await in the Function Room along with refreshments available for purchase from vendors on site. The event concludes around midday, providing ample time for runners to relax or explore further within Emerald Lake Park's expansive grounds.
This family-friendly and dog-tolerant event welcomes participants aged 16 years and older who are encouraged to bring their loved ones for a stroll through the park while they run. Bag drop services will be provided in the Function Room, making it convenient for runners to store personal items securely during the activity.
