Fun Friday Lazy Loops (FFLL) returns on July 24, 2026, with an exciting night edition at Lysterfield MTB Park. This unique XCC-style race offers riders the chance to enjoy a fun-filled evening under the lights for 45 minutes. Located in the heart of Melbourne’s scenic trails, SMBT Car park serves as the starting point and hub for this casual yet thrilling event. FFLL is designed with any level rider in mind, offering both long and short loops that cater to beginners and seasoned racers alike. The senior loop spans between 4-7 kilometers while the junior/kids loop ranges from 2-5 kilometers. Participants will experience an evening of friendly competition as they race against time on a well-lit course. Each lap is carefully timed, providing riders with a sense of achievement without the pressure often associated with more competitive races. The atmosphere is laid-back and social, encouraging camaraderie among all participants. Registration opens online until noon on Friday preceding the event, followed by an in-person registration desk starting at 5:30 pm. Races begin promptly at 6:30 pm for juniors and 6:40 pm for seniors, with presentations scheduled right after racing concludes around 8:00 pm. Entry fees range from $10 to $15, which includes small prizes such as chocolate bars for the top finishers in each grade. Riders must hold a valid Aus Cycling race license or opt for the free trial membership available on their website. For those who prefer electric assistance, e-bikes are welcome and should be indicated at registration. All riders can reuse their LDTR race plate to help reduce costs and promote sustainability within the club community. While refunds are not typically offered unless the event is canceled by Lysterfield District Trail Riders (LDTR), participants may withdraw from the competition before it closes without penalty. Any cancellation after this deadline means your entry fee will be considered a donation towards future events. Join us for an unforgettable night of cycling, complete with breathtaking views and a supportive environment that celebrates every rider’s effort and spirit. For more information or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, contact LDTR via email at administration@lysterfieldmtb.com. The event promises not only exhilarating racing but also the opportunity to connect with fellow cyclists in a relaxed setting. Don’t miss out on this unique experience that blends competition with community fun!
