Punk Panther New Year Half & Marathon

Kick off 2027 with the Green Gateways Trail Race, an invigorating run through North Leeds’s lush green spaces on January 6th. Choose from either a Half Marathon (14 miles) or a full Marathon (26.2 miles), both offering breathtaking views and challenging terrain.
The route winds through Danefield Woods, Yeadon Banks, and Yeadon Tarn, providing scenic vistas of The Chevin if the weather cooperates. For those tackling the marathon distance, you’ll also traverse The Billing and enjoy a delightful run along the River Aire.
This event is not just about covering ground; it’s an immersive experience in nature with stunning landscapes and varied terrain that will test your endurance and appreciation for Leeds’ natural beauty. Participants can look forward to encountering three checkpoints (CP1 at Rawdon Library, CP2 at Cookridge, and CP3 at Bramhope) along the marathon route, while half-marathon runners visit only one checkpoint at Cookridge.
Registration takes place at The Bridge United Reform Church in Otley between 06:30 AM and 07:45 AM. All participants must adhere to a strict kit list for safety purposes, which includes essential items like waterproof jackets, energy bars, survival bags, and headlamps for the marathon runners.
The race starts from Station Top Car Park off East Chevin Road in Otley at 07:30 AM (Marathon) and 08:00 AM (Half Marathon). Each checkpoint offers a variety of refreshments including water, energy bars, snacks, and both vegan and gluten-free options. Finishers will receive medals and event T-shirts upon crossing the finish line back at The Bridge United Reform Church.
