Punk Panther Welcome Way

Welcome to the Welcome Way Trail Race, an exhilarating adventure through Yorkshire's diverse landscapes. This race offers runners of all levels the chance to explore moorlands, farmland, woodland, and riverside paths along the circular Welcome Way trail.
The event features four challenging distances: 13 miles (half marathon), 20 miles, 34 miles, and a grueling 50-mile ultramarathon. Each route is marked with stunning scenery and varied terrain that includes high points such as Otley Chevin and Burley and Baildon moors.
For the half-marathon distance, runners will enjoy a mix of gentle climbs and descents, while the longer courses add more elevation gain and mileage. The 50-mile race presents an ultimate challenge with over 6,000 feet of climbing across diverse landscapes.
Registration takes place at Craftsman Tools Car Park in Otley on event day from 06:00 to 07:45 AM, depending on your chosen distance. Participants will receive their trackers for the ultramarathon and can hire them for trail races as well. The race briefings are conducted right before each start time.
The race starts at Garnet's Field, a short walk from registration. Checkpoints along the route offer essential supplies such as water, energy bars, and crisps to keep you fueled throughout your journey. For ultramarathon runners, additional checkpoints provide critical support for longer distances.
All participants receive a medal upon finishing, while those who complete their chosen distance will also be eligible for event T-shirts (opt-out available). The finish line in Otley welcomes everyone with homemade pies and hot beverages to celebrate the day's achievements.
Safety is paramount during this race. All ultramarathon runners are provided with trackers that allow friends and family to follow your progress online. Detailed kit lists ensure all competitors carry necessary safety items, including waterproof jackets, energy bars, whistles, and mobile phones for emergency contacts.
