Pup-A-Go 5k Hike/Run

Papago Park is set to host the third annual Pup-A-Go 5k Doggie Walk/Run on Sunday, January 10, 2026, at Papago Park West Butte Trailhead. This heartwarming event welcomes both runners and hikers who can enjoy a scenic 5-kilometer loop around the park with their furry companions or solo.
Organized by GhostHead Productions in collaboration with Home Fur Good, this community-driven race aims to raise funds for a no-kill animal shelter while fostering connections among pet owners. Participants will start at the designated trailhead and complete one counterclockwise lap through Papago Park's lush landscapes. The course is clearly marked at key points, ensuring that everyone can navigate with ease.
Registration fees include a donation to Home Fur Good, supporting their mission of providing care for animals in need. On race day, all dogs must be leashed and up-to-date on vaccinations; poop bags will be provided at the start area to keep the park clean.
Additional parking is available just across Galvin Parkway from the trailhead, making it easy for participants to reach the starting point with their pets. Restrooms are set up near the beginning of the course, ensuring that everyone has access to necessary facilities before and during the event.
Race swag includes a commemorative Pup-A-Go sticker and a special Home Fur Good item for all entrants who register early enough. The race organizers are also working with vendors to provide additional treats and goodies for your four-legged friends.
An aid station at the start will offer cold water, hydration mix, snacks, and bananas to help participants stay energized throughout their run or hike. While this is the only official stop along the course, runners should bring extra supplies as there are no other rest points available during the event.
