Race Around the Place

Experience the vibrant spirit of community at the Carleton Place Community Run, an annual celebration of health, unity, and local pride. This not-for-profit race is meticulously organized by a passionate volunteer team committed to enhancing the town’s charm through active living initiatives.
The event offers three distinct distances: Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K, catering to both beginners eager to take their first steps in running and seasoned athletes aiming for personal bests. The course winds its way through Carleton Place's historic downtown, offering runners a glimpse of the town’s rich heritage as they navigate picturesque streets lined with quaint shops and charming architecture.
Beyond the historical charm, the route also includes serene river views and tranquil trail segments that promise an invigorating run amidst nature’s beauty. Participants will be inspired by the scenic landscapes while contributing to community support through proceeds that benefit The Hunger Stop food bank, ensuring every step taken has a positive impact on local lives.
The race is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th, with staggered start times designed to keep both runners and volunteers engaged throughout the day. The Half Marathon kicks off at 9:00 AM, followed by the 10K at 9:15 AM, and the 5K at 9:30 AM, allowing ample time for everyone to find their pace.
Post-race festivities include opportunities for participants to explore downtown Carleton Place, cheer on fellow competitors, and support local businesses that contribute significantly to this community.
