Race the Night

Experience the thrill of running under the stars at Illiniwek Forest Preserve on November 7, 2026. The evening adventure offers two trail courses: a challenging 14K route and a shorter but equally captivating 7K option. Participants are required to bring headlamps for optimal visibility as they navigate through the forest in low light conditions.
The race begins at dusk, with runners setting off on the longer course at 5:30 PM followed by those tackling the 7K distance starting promptly at 6:00 PM. Aid stations along both routes provide essential hydration and support; for the shorter route, aid is available around mile 2.5, while the extended journey features checkpoints approximately every two miles.
After crossing the finish line under a canopy of stars, runners can unwind by the crackling fire with live music playing in the background. Warm up with seasonal treats and connect with fellow participants as you celebrate your achievement together.
