Raleigh Turkey Trot

Join us for the 2026 Raleigh Turkey Trot, one of the Triangle's most beloved Thanksgiving morning traditions. This annual race offers runners and walkers an opportunity to kick off their holiday festivities with friends and family.
The centerpiece of this year’s event is the 8K run/walk along scenic routes in downtown Raleigh, starting at Ridgewood Shopping Center. The route winds through historic neighborhoods and bustling streets before concluding back where it began, creating a festive atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. For those looking to join in on the fun but with less distance, there's also an exciting Kids Dash for children aged 7 and under.
Registration fees vary based on when you sign up:
- Through August 31: $33
- September 1 - October 31: $35
- November 1 - November 17: $37
- November 18 - November 26 or until sold out: $40
Families can enjoy a special discount by registering together using the promo code FriendsAndFamily, which offers a 13% reduction on total registrations of $113 or more. This makes it easier to bring everyone along for this memorable morning.
Participants are encouraged to pick up their race packets and shirts during advanced check-in sessions at Ridgewood Shopping Center's lower parking lot near Conte’s Bike Shop from noon until 4 PM on both Saturday, November 21st and Sunday, November 22nd. Race day packet pickup will be available starting at 6:30 AM.
The race itself begins promptly at 8:30 AM with a gathering of runners along Ridge Road between Wade Avenue and Leonard Street. The event culminates in an awards ceremony honoring the top three finishers overall, as well as age group winners ranging from under-14 to over-80 years old for both male and female categories.
Parking is available at Meredith College on Faircloth Rd., with access opening by 6:30 AM. To ensure a smooth start to your race day, advanced check-in is highly recommended.
For those interested in volunteering or supporting the National MS Society through this event, opportunities are plentiful. Volunteers receive fundraising credit that can be applied toward future MS Bike or Walk events.
Remember, no dogs on course due to insurance regulations and safety concerns for all participants. Strollers and baby joggers are welcome but should start at the back of the pack for a safer experience.
