Restore Our Sacred Lake 5K Run/Walk/Roll

Restore Our Sacred Lake 5K invites runners, walkers, and wheelers to join us in celebrating the resurgence of wildlife and environmental restoration efforts around Onondaga Lake. The race is inspired by the Thanksgiving Address, emphasizing our commitment to protecting Mother Earth.
The event kicks off at Onondaga Lake Park Marina & Boat Launch on Vine Street in Liverpool, NY, where participants will embark on a scenic 5K journey along Restoration Way, following the shoreline of Onondoga Lake. This path offers stunning views and an opportunity for runners to witness firsthand the progress made towards ecological recovery.
Registration remains open until race day with free entry available through August 31st. For those registering after September 1st, fees are $5 from September 1st to 6th, and $10 on race day itself, which falls on Wednesday, September 7th, 2026.
Participants can pick up their packets starting at 6:30 AM near the start/finish line until shortly before the event begins. Free parking is available throughout Onondaga Lake Park for all attendees.
The post-race celebration includes an awards ceremony where trophies will be awarded to first-place male and female finishers across various age groups (14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). All participants will receive custom finisher certificates and have access to view or share their race photos on the event page.

In case of adverse weather conditions or safety concerns that necessitate rescheduling or converting to a virtual race format, runners will be notified in advance.
Professional timing services are provided using Jaguar Electronic RFID technology from Race Management Solutions, ensuring accurate and real-time results available via ITSYourRace Mobile App, RMS Race Results Kiosk/Printer, scrolling TV monitors at the venue, or online through ITSYourRace.com and RaceManagementSolutions.com. Participants can also utilize these platforms to share their race photos on Facebook.
