Ride of the Falling Leaves 2026

Join SpokeCyclesCC for the annual Giro di Lombardia - La Classica delle foglie morte, or Ride of the Falling Leaves, as we celebrate the autumn season with a scenic cycling journey through Hertfordshire. This traditional event is not just about riding; it’s an experience that combines stunning fall foliage and challenging terrain.
Participants can choose between two routes: 100km for those seeking a longer adventure, or 60km for riders who want to enjoy the beauty of the countryside without overextending their limits. Both courses wind through picturesque villages, rolling hills, and lush woodlands where leaves are at their peak brilliance during late autumn.
Self-support is required, so make sure you’re prepared with your own supplies. Riders will receive a detailed briefing and GPX file 24 hours before the start time to ensure they have all necessary information for a safe journey. A feed station approximately halfway through each route provides essential refreshments to keep riders fueled throughout their ride.
After completing your chosen distance, head back to Spoke Cycles HQ where you’ll find a lively atmosphere with live screenings of Il Lombardia on the big screen and plenty of food and drinks available for everyone’s enjoyment. The café will be open from 8:00am until 5pm, offering a variety of refreshments.
Entry fees are £32 in advance or £35 on the day if you haven’t secured your spot beforehand. Entry closes at midnight on October 3rd, 2026. Limited parking is available onsite and public transportation options include trains from London Kings Cross, Peterborough, and Cambridge to nearby stations within a five-mile radius of race HQ.
