Rubble Creek Classic

The Classic, inaugurated in 1985 by David Wong and his friends on the last Sunday of September, has since become an eagerly anticipated celebration marking the end of summer. Runners embark on this picturesque journey through Garibaldi Park, beginning with the winding switchbacks of Cheakamus Lake trail. The route then winds its way past Taylor Creek’s vibrant meadows adorned with a tapestry of wildflowers, before ascending to the imposing Black Tusk, a volcanic landmark that looms majestically overhead.
As participants continue their ascent, the terrain gradually transforms into breathtaking scenery, culminating at Garibaldi Lake's serene shores. Here, runners are rewarded with panoramic views that stretch across the tranquil waters and surrounding mountains, offering a perfect backdrop for this iconic race. With limited spots available to just 100 eager athletes each year, The Classic remains a highly sought-after event among local and international competitors alike.
