Rumble in the Jumble V invites runners of all abilities to Penistone for an unforgettable 6-hour endurance challenge. This inaugural event takes place at St John's Community Centre, located along Church Street in Sheffield’s S36 6AR postcode area. The course follows a scenic out-and-back route on the old railway line, offering a flat and runnable surface that extends over 4.37 miles per lap. Participants can choose to complete distances ranging from 5 kilometers up to an ultra marathon by running multiple laps within the time limit. The event’s flexibility allows runners to start their final lap as late as 5:59 PM on the day, ensuring ample opportunities for ambitious goals. Registration opens at 8 AM with a race start promptly at 8:30 AM. Once you cross the finish line, enjoy your hard-earned effort by selecting from an array of medals and receiving a goody bag filled with thoughtful items to celebrate your achievement. Aid tables are strategically placed along each lap’s endpoint, providing runners with essential hydration options such as water, squash, fizzy drinks, and various snacks. The venue itself offers toilet facilities for participants but lacks separate changing rooms or showers. For those arriving by car, free parking is available at the event location; however, organizers encourage attendees to consider carpooling where possible to minimize environmental impact. Alternatively, Penistone train station lies just a short 0.3-mile walk away from the venue. Race instructions will be communicated via email seven days prior to the start date, and race numbers can be collected upon arrival at registration on event day. A bag drop area is provided near the starting line for participants’ convenience; however, it’s important to note that this space isn’t secure or constantly monitored, so valuables should not be left unattended. As the run unfolds along public footpaths, runners are kindly reminded to remain considerate towards other trail users and adhere to UKA Athletics rules. The event is licensed by the TRA, ensuring a safe and well-regulated environment for all participants. About Sheffield
Learn more about the host city, Sheffield.
The original Steel City, Sheffield is one place most have heard of, but isn't usually on many travellers' bucket lists. If this is you, you're missing out. It's true, Yorkshire's second city has a bit of an image problem. Its cutlery may be in kitchen drawers the world over, but Sheffield hasn't necessarily reinvented itself in the way that other northern English cities have managed to do.
