Centennial Park provides a picturesque backdrop for race participants and spectators alike. On race morning, expect clear blue skies with temperatures around 20°C (68°F), making it comfortable to run through the park’s firm and slightly soft terrain. The atmosphere is vibrant as families gather early to enjoy the pre-race festivities.
Since its inception in 2014, Run For Barrie has grown significantly, attracting both serious runners and casual walkers from across the region. This year's event aims to continue building on that tradition by engaging more participants and raising funds for those in need within the community.
The race offers a variety of distances: a 5K run (2 laps), a 3KM run, and a 1K fun walk. Each distance is designed to cater to different abilities and interests—whether you're looking to challenge yourself or simply enjoy an engaging morning activity with your family.
Starting at Centennial Park, the course winds through familiar streets of Barrie before returning for its final stretch back into the park. The terrain offers a mix of firm pathways that are slightly soft due to recent rains, ensuring participants have a smooth yet invigorating run. Notable features include aid stations positioned strategically along the route to ensure runners stay hydrated and nourished.
The weather on race day is expected to be moderate with UV index at 5.0, indicating enough sunlight for a pleasant outdoor experience but not too harsh. Temperatures will range from around 17°C (63°F) in the early morning to about 22°C (72°F) as the sun rises higher.

Registration for participants is open via https://raceroster.com/events/2026/129806/run-for-barrie-2026. The fee to participate in the 5K run is CA$50.81, while the 3KM run costs CA$40.02 and the 1K fun walk is priced at CA$23.83.
Bibs can be picked up on Friday from 9 AM - 6 PM or Saturday morning before race day starting at 7:30 AM until just an hour before the event. Bring your ID to verify registration details and pick up your bib, T-shirt, and timing chip if you have not done so online.
The start location is Centennial Park in Barrie with a minimum age requirement of 8 years old for full participants—anyone younger can join as part of the fun walk. Be prepared by checking the route map and bringing appropriate running gear that includes comfortable shoes suitable for firm but slightly soft surfaces.
