Run for the Hills

The 18th annual Run for the Hills takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 8:00 AM starting from the Benton County Fairgrounds at 110 SW 53rd Street in Corvallis, Oregon, USA. This event offers a challenging 30K trail run with over 3,000 feet of climbing, an 8K trail run, a 2-mile out-and-back race, and a 1/4 mile Kids Run, all benefiting the Greenbelt Land Trust Trail Fund which purchases materials and equipment for trail construction and maintenance by volunteers.

Event Logistics and Participant Information:

• Packet Pickup: Friday, June 6 (day before event) from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Five Star Sports in Downtown Corvallis. Packets are also available on the morning of the event, but early pickup is encouraged.
• Registration: Online registration closes at 11:59 PM PT on Wednesday, June 3. Same-day registration is offered for all races.
• Shirts: Available for order until June 3.
• Kids Run: Ages seven and under are free to register in the 2 Mile race and do not need to register. The 2 Mile race and Kids Run are not timed.
• 30K Early Start Option: Available for runners expecting to finish in more than 3.5 hours. Finishers who take the early start are not included in age group awards unless all runners in their age group also took the early start.
• 30K Cut-Off Time: Noon cutoff for runners to reach the last aid station.
• Refund Policy: As a 100% nonprofit community fundraiser, Run for the Hills does not issue refunds for any reason.
• Proceeds: Benefits the Greenbelt Land Trust Trail Fund. More than $85,000 has been raised through this event in the last 17 years for trail construction and maintenance materials and equipment.
• Awards: Top three male and female finishers overall, plus top age group finishers for the 30K and 8K.
• Volunteers: Volunteers are needed on race day – sign up using the volunteer button on the event page.

Route and Atmosphere:

• 8K Course: Uses the Bald Hill Natural Area – accessible trails with beautiful Corvallis ridge views.
• 30K Course: Continues beyond Bald Hill up to the Fitton Green Natural Area along the Mulkey Creek Trail, also including Amy's Trail and trails within Crestmont Land Trust. Described as challenging with over 3,000 feet of climbing, but the views are great and the well-built trails are worth the effort.
• 2 Mile Course: Out-and-back from the Benton County Fairgrounds on gravel and paved multi-use path.
• Scenic Highlights: Great views from Bald Hill, Fitton Green Natural Area, and the Mulkey Creek corridor – classic Oregon trail running terrain.
• Community & Conservation: A 100% nonprofit fundraiser supporting the volunteers who keep local trails safe and passable for the public.
• Family-Friendly: The 2 Mile and Kids Run options (with free entry for ages 7 and under) make this event accessible to families.
• Spectator Experience: The Benton County Fairgrounds provides a central start/finish area with easy access for spectators and families.
