Immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes of Wicklow County with the 'Run the Spinc' trail running series. This exhilarating event features two distance options, catering to both seasoned runners and those looking for a scenic challenge.
The centerpiece is a 20 km mixed mountain and trail run that takes you along the dramatic Derrybawn Ridge. The route offers stunning vistas of rugged terrain as it winds through steep ascents and descents, showcasing the natural beauty and wild charm of Wicklow's mountains. Trail runners can also opt for a shorter but equally captivating 10 km course within the serene confines of Derrybawn Woods.
Starting in Laragh, participants will traverse diverse terrains ranging from rocky paths to lush woodlands, providing an engaging mix of technical trail running and mountain ascents. The race is meticulously organized by experienced runners and officials from Glendalough AC and MyRunResults, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all competitors.
This event not only offers a challenging course but also supports local community initiatives, with proceeds benefiting Laragh GFC, a dedicated Gaelic football club in the area.
