Run The Rock

Run The Rock takes place on November 7–8, 2026, starting at 7:00 AM PT for the 50K and 9:00 AM for the 25K on Saturday, and 8:30 AM for the Half Marathon on Sunday at Smith Rock State Park in Terrebonne, OR. This loop-style trail race offers spectacular views of the Cascade Range from Mt Hood to Mt Bachelor, passing sheer rock faces famous for rock climbing, the iconic Monkey Face, and the Crooked River National Grasslands. The 50K features 5,500 feet of elevation gain and loss, 85% single-track trails, and 4 fully stocked aid stations.

Course Highlights:

• 50K: Hits almost all trails in Smith Rock State Park — up Misery Ridge, past Monkey Face, big loop around Gray Butte, views of high Cascade Peaks.
• 25K (New for 2026): Grind up Burma Road to Gray Butte aid station, summit push, then thrilling downhill on Burma all the way to finish.
• Half Marathon: Incredible views of Cascade Range and Monkey Face.
• Course surface: 50K — 85% single-track, 15% double track/dirt roads. Half marathon — 90% single-track.

Refund Policy (No Exceptions):

• No transfers to other runners.
• Cancellation more than 30 days before race: 50% credit toward same event following year.
• Cancellation 30 days or less: no credit, no refund, no transfer.
• If Alpine Running cancels for any reason (including COVID-19, wildfires, air quality, natural disasters, permitting closures): no refunds, race credits, or rollovers.
• Registration fees support a great race beneficiary.

Veterans & Active Military Discount:

• 25% discount available.
• Email race director prior to registering.
• Military ID required as proof.
• Discounts cannot be refunded after registration.

Run The Rock is the biggest party at Smith Rock — capping off each race season in Alpine Running's backyard. Big views, big effort, big fun.
