Embark on an enchanting journey through Lemont as you celebrate autumn’s splendor during the beloved Run With The Nuns race on October 18th. This annual event, now in its ninth year and a cherished community fixture since 2014, promises to delight runners of all ages.
Race day will begin with crisp, refreshing air, perfect for your 5K run. Temperatures around 14 degrees Celsius create an ideal running environment as you start from Main Street's charming storefronts before venturing into the rolling hills and leafy neighborhoods like Willowbrook and Hinsdale. Spectators line benches and pathways to cheer on participants, adding a vibrant atmosphere that makes this event truly special.
The course weaves through St. Mary’s Park, offering a delightful mix of paved paths and scenic tree-lined streets. Highlights include the park's central fountain and ancient oak trees lining the main pathway. Post-race festivities await at the finish line in St. Mary's Park with water stations along your route to keep you hydrated.
A gentle west wind provides cool breezes that invigorate without being challenging, while moderate humidity ensures comfortable conditions throughout the race. Registration fees of $49.54 for adults (13 years and older) and $22.85 for youth (ages 12 and under) support local scholarships at St. Mary's High School.
Pick up your bib on Friday, October 17th from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. The race starts in front of St. Mary’s Park off Main Street; first-timers should bring their bib numbers and necessary documentation for age verification.
