Seacoast Rotary Club Turkey Trot

Run’ucopia invites you to join one of Salem’s cherished Thanksgiving traditions. This annual race series offers runners and walkers an opportunity to explore Minto Brown Island Park through scenic routes that showcase this expansive urban park system, known for its interconnected trails and natural beauty.
The event features a variety of distance options:
- A 1K kids run (free) for children aged 6 & under.
- A 6K race (4 miles).
- A 10K race (6.2 miles).
- A challenging 15K course (9.3 miles).
All races start and finish at the pavilion in Riverfront Park, located on the south side of Salem’s riverfront area. The event kicks off Thanksgiving morning with a festive atmosphere that includes music, cowbells, and plenty of community spirit.
The race day schedule is as follows:
- 8:00 am - Check-in opens.
- 8:45 am - Kids’ run begins.
- 9:10 am - The 15K starts.
- 9:12 am - Followed by the start of the 10K race.
- 9:14 am - Finally, the 6K kicks off.
Participants will enjoy a mix of paved paths and scenic dirt trails as they navigate through Minto Brown Island Park. The course is well-marked with signs and volunteers to guide runners along their journey. After crossing the finish line, hot chocolate from Dutch Bros Coffee awaits all participants until supplies run out.
Awards ceremonies are scheduled throughout the morning:
- 6K awards at approximately 9:50 am.
- 10K awards around 10:15 am.
Special prizes and ribbons will be awarded to top finishers in various age groups, as well as overall winners for each distance. Additionally, there is a unique opportunity to express gratitude on the giant chalkboard set up near the start/finish area.
Pre-race packet pickup can be arranged at Gallagher’s Fitness Resources downtown from 2:30 pm to 5:45 pm on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Early registration ensures better pricing and availability of your preferred distance.
Run’ucopia also supports local charities, such as Outward Church's annual Thanksgiving Meal Program and Salem Harvest, which help feed families in need during the holiday season. Participants can contribute by donating through their online registration or volunteering to assist with meal deliveries on race day.
