Step into the festive spirit at Lingwood Village Hall with this charming family-run event, designed to raise funds for Mini Donks – Miniature Donkeys for Wellbeing. The event promises an engaging day filled with joy and community support.
The main attractions are a 5km Santa Dash and a shorter but equally delightful 2km Family Festive Fun Run that takes place entirely within the village hall grounds. Both routes offer scenic trails around Lingwood, providing runners of all ages with picturesque views and a comfortable setting to enjoy the outdoors during winter. Participants will receive commemorative medals upon completion.
For those looking for an extra splash of fun, new this year is the Inflatable Fancy Dress Dash – a 400m sprint open free of charge to anyone donning an inflatable costume. This quirky addition not only adds excitement but also encourages creativity and laughter among participants. Those who wish can change into their inflatables before heading out for the main races.
The event kicks off with registration from 9:00 AM, followed by a briefing at 10:15 AM to ensure everyone is prepared for an enjoyable day ahead. An aerobics warm-up session will be held at 10:45 AM to get participants energized before the race start time of 11:00 AM.
While no official timing will take place, the emphasis lies on community spirit and enjoyment rather than competition. This decision ensures that more funds can go directly towards supporting Mini Donks’ vital work in enhancing wellbeing through miniature donkeys.
The event is open to runners aged 11 years and older for the longer route, allowing young participants to experience a fun yet manageable challenge. The Hug-a-Mug cafe will be on-site offering snacks, homemade cakes, and refreshing beverages throughout the day.
