Sea Lion Stride: 5K & 10K

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Niagara Gorge as you lace up your running shoes for the Sea Lion Stride, presented by the Aquarium of Niagara. This year's race offers two engaging options: a 5K and a brand-new 10K route along the picturesque New York State Parks trail that winds through the heart of Niagara Gorge.
The 5K course is meticulously designed to highlight the natural splendor around Whirlpool State Park, with runners enjoying stunning views of the river as they navigate this certified USATF track. For those seeking a longer adventure, the 10K route extends further into Devil's Hole State Park before turning back towards the starting line.
All participants are welcome at Sea Lion Stride, whether you prefer to run or walk alongside your family and friends. Kids under six can join for free, making it an inclusive event that caters to all ages and abilities. Early registrants who sign up by September 10th will receive a complimentary official race t-shirt.
Awards are given out in both the 5K and 10K categories, with overall top male and female runners earning certificates for a free animal encounter at the Aquarium of Niagara. Age group winners also take home unique paintings created by one of the aquarium's talented sea lions, adding an extra layer of excitement to your race day experience.
Post-race festivities include an afterparty hosted on Whirlpool Commons where participants can relax and mingle while enjoying complimentary admission to both the Aquarium and Great Lakes 360 exhibits. Early registration is recommended for the best rates; live race-day registrations are also available but come with a higher fee.
