Experience the breathtaking landscapes and charming towns that make up Halton Region during the annual Share the Road Gran Fondo. This cycling event is more than just a ride; it's an opportunity to contribute positively to your community while enjoying some of Ontario’s finest roads. Join us on Sunday, September 20th in Milton and surrounding areas for this memorable adventure. The journey begins at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, offering ample space and facilities tailored for cyclists. Throughout the day, you'll have three distinct options: a 40km route that showcases local beauty, an 80km tour that delves deeper into Halton’s countryside, or the full 110km challenge which takes you on a comprehensive exploration of the region. Each distance offers marked routes with rest stops every 20-30 kilometers to ensure your comfort and safety. Pre-ride and post-ride expos will be available for those interested in learning more about cycling culture and community initiatives, adding an engaging layer to this event. Proceeds from the Share the Road Gran Fondo directly support the Share the Road Cycling Coalition’s mission of advancing safer infrastructure, educating communities on safe practices, and advocating for meaningful change. This year's ride commemorates OPP Sergeant Greg Stobbart, whose tragic death in 2006 inspired the coalition to create a safer cycling environment. Register now at $250, which includes a $125 charitable donation. Receipts will be provided for your tax-deductible contribution. For any inquiries, contact greg@performancedriveneventsorinfo@sharetheroad.ca. Join us in celebrating the joy and freedom of cycling while making a difference in our community.
