Welcome to the Siskiyou Out Back Trail Running Festival, an annual celebration of trail running that takes place from July 9-11, 2027. Nestled high above the Rogue Valley in Ashland, Oregon, this event offers a unique blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery across three exhilarating days. The festival features various race distances to suit all levels of runners, including the iconic Brink 100 course that spans over 100 kilometers through some of the most spectacular trails in the Pacific Northwest. Starting at the heart of Ashland and finishing atop Mount Ashland Lodge, this grueling route includes two significant ascents exceeding 5,000 feet and three peaks surpassing 7,000 feet. Runners will traverse rugged terrain along the Pacific Crest Trail, navigate steep climbs on Wagner Glade Trail, and enjoy panoramic views of Mt Shasta and the Cascades. For those seeking a more manageable challenge, the SOB 100K offers an extensive exploration through the Siskiyou Mountains and Ashland’s renowned trail network. Starting near Mount Ashland Lodge, runners will loop around the mountain before descending into the Ashland Creek Watershed for scenic runs on popular local trails. The course then ascends back to high country via Split Rock Trail and concludes with a classic out-and-back along the Siskiyou Crest. The 50K race is perfect for those new to ultra running, combining buttery smooth trail sections with stunning ridge-top views of multiple mountain ranges. Participants will enjoy world-class aid stations and a strong local community vibe throughout their journey on this historic course that has been anchoring SOB since its inception over two decades ago. Shorter distances include the 15K and 8K courses, which both begin at Mount Ashland Ski parking lot and offer runners the chance to experience portions of the Pacific Crest Trail. These routes provide a taste of the festival's scenic beauty without committing to longer durations. Beyond running, Siskiyou Out Back offers camping options, live music, local cuisine, and plenty of opportunities for socializing with fellow trail enthusiasts from around the world. The event is deeply rooted in fostering community spirit while showcasing the natural splendor of Ashland’s watershed and surrounding areas. Join us at this mountain playground to immerse yourself in a vibrant atmosphere filled with camaraderie, stunning vistas, and unforgettable experiences. Whether you're an experienced ultrarunner or just starting out on your trail running journey, there's something here for everyone who loves the thrill of adventure amidst nature’s grandeur.
