Sol Riders Adventure Bike Camp at Oaks/Valley Forge PA
About the Event
Welcome to the Adventure Bike Camp at Oaks, PA. Nestled near Arnold’s Fun Center, this camp offers an exhilarating blend of outdoor adventure and fun activities for young cyclists aged 6 through 15. Campers will gather at Arnold's Bowling Entrance where they’ll be divided into ride groups based on age and ability. Ensure your child is comfortable riding without training wheels; a bike in excellent condition with properly functioning brakes, tires, and chains is essential. A well-fitted helmet must also be provided. For safety reasons, closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Biking adventures await along the Perkiomen Trail and Schuylkill River Trail, offering scenic views of local points of interest like Valley Forge Park, Lock 60, and Upper Schuylkill Valley Park Wildlife Sanctuary. Mini-hikes and creek walks will be part of the day’s activities as campers explore nature while learning about bike maintenance and safety. Weather permitting, half-day camps run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with lunch served between 12:15 and 1:00 p.m. Full-day sessions extend until 3:15 p.m. In damp weather, participants can enjoy indoor activities at Arnold’s Fun Center or the American Treasures Museum. Severe weather will see everyone gather indoors for board games, snacks, and social time. A packed lunch is recommended but not mandatory; campers may purchase from Arnold's Fun Center with options including pizza slices, hot dogs, and fountain drinks for $6 each. Parents are encouraged to bring protective eyewear, sunscreen, bug repellent, and padded bike shorts. The Adventure Bike Camp also teaches essential cycling skills such as understanding the parts of a bicycle, proper maintenance techniques, and safety rules on trails. This year introduces new ‘pods’—groups tailored specifically for younger riders or those with less experience to ensure everyone enjoys their time at camp. For more information about registration details, pricing ($295 for half-day; $580 for full day), and any questions regarding behavior policies, please contact Heather at [email protected]
