Sol Riders Mountain Bike Camp at Oaks/Valley Forge, PA
About the Event
Experience the thrill of cycling at Sol Riders LLC’s Adventure Bike Camp and Mountain Bike Camp. Designed for young cyclists aged 5 to 16, these camps offer an exciting blend of outdoor adventure and indoor fun. Adventure Bike Camp is perfect for those eager to explore both gravel and paved trails under skilled guidance. Participants will learn essential bike handling skills such as controlled braking, shifting gears, steering, and maintaining balance on various terrains. The program includes coach-led demonstrations, skill sessions, and interactive games that make learning engaging and enjoyable. Monday’s highlight features a visit to the Phoenixville Bike Park where campers can access skill-appropriate trails. Mountain Bike Camp focuses on riding through challenging mountain bike trails, including gravel paths and pavement sections of the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT). This camp ensures participants are well-prepared for technical terrain with sessions covering basic trail features like rock gardens and log-overs. Both camps offer a rich educational experience beyond biking skills. Campers will delve into terminology related to their bikes, learn how to maintain them, understand on-trail safety rules, and explore historical points of interest along the trails. For those looking for an indoor break from outdoor activities, Arnold's Fun Complex provides a variety of entertainment options including arts and crafts, games, puzzles, movie time, bowling, and more. Drop-off begins at 9:00 AM with pick-up times tailored to your schedule—half-day camps end around noon (12:30 PM is ideal), while full-day campers can enjoy lunch between 12-1 PM before resuming activities. All participants are encouraged to bring a well-fitted helmet, appropriate footwear, and plenty of water. Nutritious snacks are recommended; however, Arnold's Concessions offer pizza or hot dogs for those who prefer not to pack their own meal. A $6 lunch option is available with purchase. Sol Riders LLC ensures that all bikes have been properly maintained before the start of camp. Bikes should be in good working condition with functional brakes and tires free from dry rot. Helmets must be well-fitted, and eyewear and sunscreen are highly recommended for sun protection. Campers will follow a strict behavior policy to ensure safety and respect among participants. Parents or guardians can expect updates on any incidents affecting their child’s experience. Should issues arise, parents have the option to participate in supervision or withdraw from the program if necessary.
