Sol Riders Mountain Bike Camp at Oaks/Valley Forge Pa
About the Event
Experience the thrill of biking through scenic trails at Adventure Bike Camp & Mountain Bike Camp! Located just outside the picturesque Valley Forge, this camp offers an unforgettable summer adventure for riders aged 5 to 16. The camp is conveniently situated near Arnold's Fun Center, with drop-off and pick-up points easily accessible from this vibrant complex. Participants will enjoy a variety of activities designed to enhance both their biking skills and appreciation of nature. Whether you're new to mountain biking or looking to refine your techniques on well-maintained trails, there’s something for everyone. The camp is divided into two groups: Adventure Seekers and Mountain Bike Trail Enthusiasts. Each group will be further segmented based on skill levels. Safety and education are at the core of this program. Riders will learn essential bike handling skills such as controlled braking, shifting gears, steering through corners, maintaining balance, and navigating varied terrains safely. They'll also receive training in trail etiquette, ensuring they respect both nature and fellow cyclists. The camp covers a wide range of trails within Valley Forge Park, including paved paths, gravel tracks, and challenging mountain bike routes. Stops along the way will include visits to historic sites like George Washington's Headquarters, the Visitor Center, and various playgrounds where kids can take breaks or engage in fun activities. For those days when the weather isn't cooperating, rest assured that Arnold’s Fun Center offers indoor facilities with plenty of options for entertainment. Participants can enjoy arts and crafts, board games, card games, and even a movie screening while staying dry and entertained indoors. Camp hours are structured to accommodate busy schedules: half-day camps run from 9:00 AM until noon, with an ideal pick-up time between 12:15 PM and 12:30 PM. Full-day camps start at the same hour but extend through lunchtime before concluding by 3:00 PM. Pricing for Adventure Bike Camp is $295 per half day or $580 for a full day, which includes snacks, sweet treats, and Sol Rider's branded swag. Extended care services are available from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM at an additional cost of $85. For your biking experience, we recommend bringing a well-fitted helmet in good condition, a bike with shifting gears (knobby tires preferred), and appropriate footwear—closed-toe shoes that fit securely. A water bottle or hydration pack is essential for staying hydrated throughout the day. Nutritious snacks are encouraged to keep energy levels up. Safety gear such as protective eyewear, sunscreen, bug repellent, and padded bike shorts can also enhance your experience significantly. Remember to bring a lightweight rain slicker in case of unexpected showers. Parents should ensure their child’s bike undergoes regular maintenance before the camp starts. A tune-up every year is crucial for keeping bikes in top condition and preventing mechanical failures that could disrupt your day out on the trails. By participating, you agree to follow safety guidelines designed to keep everyone safe while enjoying the outdoors. Kindness towards others and respect during activities are paramount; any incidents will be documented and addressed appropriately.
