Solstice Saunter 2027

Experience the Solstice Saunter on June 21st, the longest day of the year. This unique 5-mile trail run through the stunning Bolton Abbey Estate offers participants an unforgettable journey amidst breathtaking landscapes and historic charm. Sponsored by the Ecology Building Society, this event is dedicated to raising funds for Sue Ryder.
Participants can choose between joining us at Bolton Abbey or running virtually from anywhere in the world on that special day starting at 7:30 PM BST. Whether you sprint, jog, or saunter, every runner receives a bespoke medal celebrating their participation. Chip timing ensures fairness and accuracy throughout the race.
The Ecology Building Society's support makes this event eco-friendly with no single-use plastic bottles available for hydration. Their commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission to make a positive impact on local wildlife and the environment while raising funds for vital care services.
For those unable to join us in person, virtual runners can complete their 5-mile route of choice and receive a medal in advance to celebrate their achievement. Both in-person and virtual participants share the experience of contributing to Sue Ryder’s mission through this special event.
