Stebbing 10

Step into one of Essex's most beloved running traditions with the Stebbing 10 Mile Race, taking place on Remembrance Sunday. Organized by The Grange Farm & Dunmow Runners and marking its 24th year, this event offers a blend of scenic countryside lanes and quiet farm tracks, providing runners with an undulating yet enjoyable course.
Scheduled for November 8 at 11:00 AM in Stebbing, the race kicks off after observing two minutes of silence to honor Remembrance Day. The route winds through peaceful country roads that showcase the area’s natural beauty while offering a mix of terrain and elevation changes that challenge runners without being overly demanding.
The event is celebrated for its warm and inclusive atmosphere at the start line, where local support creates an encouraging environment for participants of all abilities. In recognition of these qualities, the Stebbing 10 Mile Race was awarded The Howard Williams Trophy in both 2016 and 2017 as the best road race in Essex AA.
Runners who complete this course can look forward to a bespoke commemorative medal that reflects the spirit of Remembrance Day. Additionally, there’s an incentive for those aiming to break records with a £100 cash prize up for grabs; male runners must aim for 51:52 and female runners for 58:01.
Registration is required in advance as on-the-day entries are not available, ensuring all participants receive detailed information beforehand. While the race does not offer refunds or deferrals, it guarantees a memorable experience that honors tradition while fostering community spirit.
This event also supports the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal, with donations made to help veterans and their families through hardships and challenges.
