The Stover Squelch 10k trail race, scheduled for Saturday, January 30th, 2027, invites runners to explore the scenic trails of Stover Country Park near Newton Abbot. Situated just a short drive from the A38 Drumbridges Roundabout, this event offers an engaging mix of terrain and scenery. The route follows gently undulating paths that wind around picturesque lakeside areas and may include muddy woodland tracks depending on weather conditions. Runners will also traverse sections along the old Stover Canal path, providing a unique glimpse into local history while enjoying fresh air and natural beauty. The trail features several recently opened stretches, adding an element of novelty to this well-trodden course. All participants who cross the finish line receive a bespoke metal medal as recognition for their achievement. The race begins at 8:45 AM sharp from Race HQ located within Stover Country Park (TQ12 6QG). Due to limited parking space in the park, part of the car park at nearby Stover Golf Club will also be utilized. Parking is pay-and-display at Stover Country Park but free at the golf club, which is just a short walk away from the race start. With only 150 spots available and catering exclusively to runners aged over 18, this event promises an intimate atmosphere where every participant can focus on their personal best without overcrowded conditions. Entry fees are £23 for affiliated members and £25 for unaffiliated participants. A strict cut-off time of two hours ensures the race runs smoothly and safely. Join us at The Stover Squelch 10k to experience a blend of natural beauty, historical charm, and competitive spirit in one exhilarating run.
