The Stroud Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, 25th October, offers runners of all levels an opportunity to experience a well-paced race through scenic landscapes and charming streets. The event begins and concludes at Marling School on Cainscross Road, providing a convenient starting point for participants. For those traveling by car, several parking options are available around Stroud. Free-of-charge Sunday parking is offered in some areas, with the closest being Cheapside Car Park near the railway station (GL5 3BL), Cainscross Car Park (GL5 4JQ), and London Road (GL5 2AP). Participants should be aware that no parking is permitted at Marling School. The race day kicks off promptly at 09:00 AM, with a route designed to challenge runners while offering picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. Throughout the course, volunteers will provide cups for water and other beverages at various stations and at the finish line. To assist participants in achieving their desired times, RaceNation Events has organized volunteer pacers who will be clearly identified by pacer flags. These dedicated helpers are available to chat before the race begins and can offer guidance on how best to maintain a consistent pace throughout the half marathon. Pacing options include 1 hour 30 minutes, 1 hour 45 minutes, 2 hours, 2 hours 15 minutes, 2 hours 30 minutes, and 2 hours 45 minutes. In adherence with UKA rules (T55 S5), the event permits only bone-conducting headphones during the race. Any runner spotted using in-ear or non-bone conducting headphones will be disqualified to ensure compliance with licensing requirements. This regulation is crucial for maintaining a safe and fair environment for all participants, so it's important that runners adhere strictly to this guideline. Whether you're aiming for personal bests or simply enjoying the run, the Stroud Half Marathon promises an engaging experience in a supportive community setting.

About Stroud
Learn more about the host city, Stroud.
Stroud is at the heart of the Five Valleys in the Cotswolds. It is in Gloucestershire, England. There's many fine, beautiful and interesting things to see but it's not "pretty" in the way that similar sized towns in the Cotswolds or Gloucestershire are. It's a fairly "alternative" place with organic/biodynamic food and a long history of campaigning to save local facilities and landmarks.
