Surrey Backyard Ultra 2026

Surrey Backyard Ultra invites you to experience an unforgettable weekend of endurance and camaraderie from September 19–20, 2026. This unique race challenges participants with a simple yet demanding format: complete a 6.7km loop within one hour every hour until only one runner remains standing.
Set in the picturesque Fleetwood Park, west of the playground (Surrey, BC), this event offers runners an opportunity to push their limits while enjoying stunning natural scenery and friendly competition. The course winds through serene trails that offer a mix of terrain including gentle hills and flat stretches, providing both challenge and beauty throughout each loop.
Registration for Surrey Backyard Ultra is free, making it accessible to all levels of runners who are ready to test themselves in an environment where perseverance is key. As you progress through the race, achieving milestones such as 10 kilometers, a half-marathon distance, marathon distance, 50km and beyond will earn you bonus raffle tickets from Arc'teryx for gear prizes.
Participants must check-in on Saturday, September 19th between 6:00 AM and 6:45 AM. A race briefing at the start line follows immediately after check-in, with the official start time set for 7:00 AM sharp. Parking is available in the main Fleetwood Park lot or along surrounding streets.
To ensure a safe environment for all competitors, runners must adhere strictly to the rules outlined by Surrey Backyard Ultra organizers. These include completing each loop within an hour, staying on course until their current lap is finished (with exceptions only for bathroom breaks), and maintaining respectful conduct throughout the event.
