Sweltering Summer Ultra

The Sweltering Summer Ultra returns to Pittsfield, Massachusetts on August 8th, inviting runners from across the region to take part in its unique eight-hour challenge at Clapp Park. The course is designed for both running and walking, with directions changing at the four-hour mark from counter-clockwise to clockwise. Racers can also opt to run along the grass outside edge of the track if preferred. Aid stations are plentiful, providing bottled water in a NASCAR-style drop-off system that allows participants quick access without disrupting their pace.
Since its inception in 2013, Sweltering Summer Ultra has become an integral part of Pittsfield’s summer sports calendar, attracting hundreds of runners each year who come to test themselves against the challenging and rewarding eight-hour format.
