Wetsuits can be rented by prior request at a cost of £10 but aren’t kept on-site due to space constraints. The jetty isn't large enough to accommodate everyone changing simultaneously, so it's advisable to arrive in swimwear or change quickly back at your vehicle. During summer months, swimmers have the opportunity to earn various badges like "My First Swim" and "Winter Swimmer." These achievements celebrate milestones for both beginners and seasoned participants. Safety is paramount; if you encounter difficulties during your swim, simply lie on your back, raise an arm, or use a tow float to signal for help. Summer swimming sessions feature buoys marking circuits of approximately 400 meters each, allowing swimmers to easily track their distance. Swimmers are advised not to venture between the blue buoys and the shore as this area is shallow ground used by anglers with fishing lines that could pose a risk. Brightly colored swim caps or bobble hats are recommended for visibility, especially during winter months when conditions can be challenging. Tow floats are mandatory due to safety regulations in place at Wyresdale Park. Facilities include ample parking near the main entrance and an overflow lot accessible via Gubberford Lane after crossing a small bridge. The Applestore Café is conveniently located on your left with toilets situated behind it outdoors, while additional indoor facilities can be found further right of the café building. For those traveling by bus, Stagecoach 40 from Preston Station takes approximately 45 minutes and drops you off at Cabus Gubberford Lane near the venue.
