Swim - Wyresdale Park (18/10)

About the Event

Set against the serene backdrop of Wyresdale Park, this open-water swim promises an unforgettable aquatic adventure. As you approach the starting point at the jetty, you'll be greeted by friendly staff who will provide essential instructions and ensure your safety throughout the event.
Storage facilities are available for your belongings should the weather turn wet; hooks along the fence allow for easy hanging of towels or robes while you dive into the refreshing waters. Tow floats can be borrowed on-site to enhance buoyancy, especially beneficial in cooler months when wetsuits (available by prior request) become a necessity due to the chilly temperatures.
Swimming circuits marked with buoys are approximately 400 meters each, making it easier for participants to track their progress as they complete laps around the picturesque lake. During your swim, be mindful of blue buoys near shorelines, which mark shallow waters used by anglers and fishing lines that could pose a hazard.
The park's natural beauty surrounds you with lush woodlands accessible via footpaths leading from an overflow car park just beyond the main entrance bridge. While there are no changing facilities provided, participants should arrive in swimwear or change discreetly at their vehicles before entering the water.
For those traveling by vehicle, clear directions guide drivers to Wyresdale Park's location off Gubberford Lane near Preston and Lancaster. Public transport options include a bus route from Preston Station that takes approximately 45 minutes to reach Cabus Gubberford Lane.
Join us on October 18, 2026, for an experience that blends the tranquility of nature with the invigorating challenge of open-water swimming at Wyresdale Park.
