Swoop the Loop 5K

Kick off 2027 with UNF’s Swoop the Loop 5K on January 9, starting at 8:00 AM sharp from J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater on the University of North Florida campus. This event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to join in a morning filled with fitness, fun, and Osprey pride.
Participants will enjoy an energizing run or stroll through beautiful UNF grounds while being cheered on by fellow competitors and community members alike. The race features high-energy music throughout the course, ensuring that everyone stays motivated from start to finish. Pre-race festivities include activities at 1st Place Sports Baymeadows location on January 8th for packet pickup between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM or directly at the Amphitheater starting race morning.
Race day will offer more than just a competitive run; it’s an opportunity to connect with UNF alumni, students, faculty, staff, and local community members. The event atmosphere is designed for families and friends of all ages, making this a perfect start to the new year. All registered participants receive official race t-shirts as well as finisher medals upon completion.
Awards will be presented in various categories including overall male and female winners, top masters competitors, and age-group awards from 10 & under through 80 & over. This ensures recognition for runners across different skill levels and ages, fostering a sense of accomplishment among all participants.

For those interested in a shorter distance, a one-mile walk/run option begins at 9:00 AM on race day.
