Held annually on the first Bank Holiday Monday in May, Tadcaster Triathlon celebrates its 20th year as one of Yorkshire's premier triathlons. This family-friendly race is designed to cater to both novice and seasoned athletes alike while raising funds for local community facilities.
The event kicks off with a refreshing pool swim covering 400 meters within the welcoming confines of Tadcaster Community Pool, followed by an exhilarating bike ride through scenic countryside routes spanning 13 kilometers. The journey concludes with a picturesque run alongside the River Wharfe for 6 kilometers, offering stunning views and flat terrain that is both challenging and enjoyable.
Participants will have the opportunity to vie for top honors in various age categories, with prizes awarded to first-place male and female finishers as well as veterans aged 40+, 50+, 60+ & 70+. To ensure a smooth registration process, all competitors must either hold an annual British Triathlon membership or purchase a single-use Race Pass. The event is open only to individuals who are at least 17 years old by December 31, 2027.
Registration includes selecting between the Female category and Open category based on eligibility criteria outlined in the British Triathlon's Transgender Policy, which took effect January 1st, 2023. This policy ensures a fair competition environment for all participants while adhering to current guidelines set by governing bodies.
